HOUSE THRUSTALIS

The Passion-Fueled Powerhouses

Welcome to the lore page for House Thrustalis, one of the five magical factions at the Academy of Carnal Arcana.
Below, you’ll step into the common room with Astrid and meet some of the House’s most iconic members. This page explores the House’s personality, magical focus, and overall aesthetic for readers who love fantasy academies and romantasy worldbuilding.

You are energy, stamina, and “I can take you.”
Your magic is physical, kinetic, unstoppable.

Strengths: intensity, bravery, enthusiasm
Weaknesses: subtlety, impulse control
Familiar: a blushing elemental stallion

Astrid meets Thrustalis House

The moment we walked in, something exploded.

Not violently. Just… loudly. And with glitter.

“That’s normal,” Pepper said before I could ask.

The Thrustalis house common room couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. Half lounge, half gym, half nightclub, and somehow also half obstacle course. The math didn’t work. Neither did the architecture. Magic crackled through the air in visible sparks, students were everywhere—laughing, wrestling, racing up walls that definitely shouldn’t be climbable, blasting energy spells at targets shaped suspiciously like exes.

Someone did a backflip off a chandelier. No one reacted.

The whole place smelled like sweat and adrenaline and something electric that made my skin prickle. Bass thumped from somewhere. A scoreboard on the wall tracked… I squinted. Orgasm counts? By house member? Updated hourly?

“Is that—”

“Don’t look at the board,” Pepper advised. “It only raises questions.”

A gorgeous student with their shirt half-off and hair damp from whatever they’d just been doing spun around, spotted us, and beamed like concentrated sunshine.

“NEWBIE!” they shouted, already bounding over. “Hi! Hello! I’m Blaze! Want to spar? Or race? Or climb something? I could teach you energy projection. Or we could do laps. Or—”

Pepper slapped a hand over their mouth. “Down, boy. You’re scaring her.”

Blaze peeled her hand away like it was nothing. Their arms were ridiculous. Everything about them was ridiculous. “I’m not scary. I’m fun.”

A pulse of kinetic magic rolled off them, brushing my skin like static electricity and something warmer. My hair actually lifted.

Cricket dove behind a couch. “This is far too much enthusiasm per square inch. I require a quieter environment.”

“You get used to it!” Blaze was already bouncing on their toes, radiating energy like a human battery. “Thrustalis is all about physical magic. Stamina. Power. Endurance.” They said that last word like it meant something specific. “You’ve got great energy, you know that? Kind of… coiled. Tense.” They grinned. “You’d do amazing in our solstice stamina trials.”

“Your what now?”

Pepper leaned in. “Translation: they want to flirt with you by competing with you. It’s how Thrustalis people show interest. If a Thrustalis invites you to ‘train together,’ they’re absolutely trying to sleep with you.”

“That’s not—” Blaze paused. “Okay, that’s accurate. But also I genuinely think you’d be good at it! The magic part. The other part too, probably.” They winked, utterly shameless. “Only one way to find out if you can keep up.”

Another explosion. More glitter. Someone cheered.

My legs went wobbly. From fear.

And… other things.

Cricket’s voice floated up from behind the couch. “We should leave before she agrees to something athletic.”

She wasn’t wrong.

But Blaze’s grin was really something.
